Ottawa, May 27, 2024 – Today, Ottawa’s Tim Hortons owners presented a record-breaking cheque to Ottawa’s Snowsuit Fund, a local charity dedicated to providing winter clothing for children from low-income families.

The donation, amounting to an impressive $334,067.00, was raised through the second annual Springtime Tim Hortons® Smile Cookie Campaign. The funds generated from the sales of the iconic chocolate chunk Smile Cookies will enable the purchase of 6,682 snowsuits for children in need throughout the Ottawa area.

“We’re so proud and humbled that Ottawa Tim Hortons guests have once again shown incredible support for the Smile Cookie campaign and this important charity,” said Bill Houldsworth, an Ottawa Tim Hortons restaurant owner.

The Smile Cookie Campaign, which spans both Canada and the United States, raised over $18.8 million this year, benefiting more than 600 charities and community groups. This initiative began in 1996 to support Hamilton Children’s Hospital and has since become a significant annual event, raising nearly $130 million for various charitable causes chosen by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.

This year’s donation to The Snowsuit Fund marks a new record for the Ottawa region, highlighting the community’s generosity and the continued success of the Smile Cookie Campaign in making a tangible difference in the lives of children in need.
