On Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., bring your family and friends to the Winter Celebration at Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Governor-General of Canada.

  • Experience Nordic sports and traditions.
  • Enjoy cultural and culinary delights provided by embassies and partner organizations.
  • Skate on the historic rink, established in 1872 by the Earl of Dufferin, Canada’s third Governor-General. (ice conditions permitting.)
  • Take a guided tour of the residence and see Dare to Dream, a new exhibition of breathtaking photographs of Canada taken from space and an exclusive display of objects from Governor-General Payette’s personal collection.

All activities are free of charge and will take place

rain, snow or shine.

Free parking will be available on the streets in the surrounding neighbourhood. Limited parking for persons with mobility restrictions will be available on the Rideau Hall grounds via the Princess Anne Gate on a first-come, first-served basis.
